Our Family's Favorite Pancake Recipe
There's something special about Saturday mornings in PJs, isn't there? Today, I'm sharing our family's go-to pancake recipe - one that's become our weekend tradition. It's simple, foolproof, and (best of all) creates minimal dishes to wash!
Here's what you'll need:
1½ cups all-purpose flour
3½ teaspoons / 11 grams baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1¼ cups milk
1 tablespoon white vinegar
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg
Let's Make Magic:
Start with the buttermilk magic! In a small bowl, combine your milk and vinegar, and let it sit for 5 minutes. This transforms into buttermilk - a little kitchen chemistry that makes your pancakes extra fluffy!
While your milk is transforming, sift together your dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Once your buttermilk is ready, pour it into the bowl with your sifted ingredients. Add the melted butter and egg.
Mix until just combined (a few lumps are perfectly fine!)
Cook on a medium-hot griddle until bubbles form, then flip!
What makes these pancakes special isn't just the recipe - it's the moments we create while making them. The sleepy morning chats, the coffee brewing in the background, maybe even a little pancake-flipping competition!
